Apply at 85g + 165ml/ha for new leys and 125g + 250ml/ha for established fields with white clover. Wait 7 days before grazing and 3 weeks before cutting. Avoid use on red clover swards or multispecies fields. Adhere to best practices for application.
- For the control of broad-leaved weeds in grass clover swards
- Can be used in both new sown leys and established grassland
- Control key weeds including docks, chickweed, redshank and fat hen
- In established grassland it controls docks, dandelions, buttercups, hogweeds and cow parle
- Always follow the best practice guidelines when using ProClova XL
ProClova XL serves as an effective solution for managing weeds in both newly sown grass and established grassland, ensuring improved reliability in weed control while maintaining maximum safety for grass and clover. In newly sown leys, it targets significant weeds such as docks, chickweed, fat-hen, redshank, and red dead nettle. Application is recommended from the tillering stage of the grass, with white clover ideally possessing three trifoliate leaves. For optimal results, it's best to apply the product 6-8 weeks post-sowing, before weeds become too robust, using a dosage of 85g + 165ml per hectare (one pack treating 3 ha).
On established grassland where white clover retention is desired, the full rate of 125g + 250mls per hectare (one pack treating 2 ha) is recommended. ProClova XL effectively targets broad-leaved docks and other prevalent weeds like buttercups, dandelions, plantains, hogweeds, and cow parsley. After application, it's advised to wait 7 days before grazing and three weeks before cutting silage/hay, allowing sufficient time for the ingredients to reach the root system and aid in eradication.
It's important not to apply ProClova XL on red clover swards in the year of sowing; instead, red clover should overwinter before application. Once overwintered, it can be applied at a higher rate of 125g + 250mls per hectare (one pack treating 2 ha). Avoid using the product on multispecies swards. Adherence to best practice guidelines is crucial when using ProClova XL. Farmers should employ low-drift nozzles during application, refrain from using them on fields where runoff could enter watercourses, and maintain a minimum 3-meter buffer zone.
BENEFITS:
- Use ProClova XL on newly sown leys to ensure grass and clover establish and dominate the sward improve the productivity of established grass and clover swards so that you have more and better quality forage.
- Also benefit from great control of other problem weeds - buttercups, dandelions, hogweed and cow parsley.
APPLICATION:
- Always apply ProClova with XL adjuvant.
- Target weeds at the correct growth stage, if you have topped the weeds wait for sufficient regrowth before spraying.
- Apply with at least 75% drift-reducing nozzles.
- DO NOT apply this product to land parcels where an intersecting watercourse is present.
- When applying to land parcels where other types of watercourses are present, respect an unsprayed buffer zone of 3m to these watercourses.
- Apply to actively growing weeds, ensure applications are made where temperatures exceed 8°C for three days prior to spraying and 3 days post-spraying.
- 1 application per calendar year
- Apply with 200 L water/hectare
- Good safety on white clover, there is an initial check on growth, but it is quickly outgrown.
- Stock grazing can resume 7 days after application, there is a 21-day cutting interval.
- Rainfast in 1 hour.
- Apply at the rates and timings specified in the table below.
- Each ProClova XL co-pack treats 3 hectares (7.4 acres) of newly sown leys or 2 hectares (5 acres) when applying to established grassland.
- This product can also be applied at a higher use of rate once the newly sown ley has reached 90% ground cover.
BEST PRACTICE GUIDELINES:
- ProClova® XL Best Practice Guidelines advise protecting water quality by using horizontal boom sprayers with Drift Reducing Nozzles (DRN) and avoiding application near intersecting watercourses.
- A 3m unsprayed buffer is required for other watercourses.
- DRN creates larger droplets, reducing drift.
- Apply ProClova XL at 200L water/hectare and 8-10kph speed. Assess seedling weed growth for higher application rates.
- Use the Corteva Forage App to determine ground cover. Wait for grass and clover to reach certain growth stages before spraying.
- Avoid spraying in unfavourable weather conditions or if the target dock population is diseased or under attack.
